Fiat E-Scudo: The Ultimate Electric Commercial Vehicle
The Fiat E-Scudo is making waves in the commercial vehicle market, offering a compelling blend of efficiency and functionality. This new electric van from Fiat Professional is designed to meet the evolving needs of businesses seeking sustainable transportation solutions. With its impressive 75kWh battery and versatile interior, the E-Scudo is poised to transform the way companies approach their delivery and service operations.
As businesses increasingly prioritize eco-friendly options, the Fiat E-Scudo stands out as a top contender in the electric van segment. This review delves into the E-Scudo’s design, powertrain capabilities, and business-focused features. We’ll also explore its safety features, driver assistance systems, and pricing options, including van leasing and finance opportunities. By the end, readers will have a comprehensive understanding of why the Fiat E-Scudo is considered the ultimate electric commercial vehicle for modern businesses.
The E-Scudo’s intelligent Magic Cargo system enhances versatility by allowing longer items to be transported using the space around the front passenger seat. This feature extends the loading area up to 3.67 m in the standard version and 4.02 m in the Maxi version.
For convenience, both Type 2 and Type 3 charging cables are provided with the van. However, a cable for domestic three-pin sockets is not included.
E-Scudo Design and Dimensions
The Fiat E-Scudo combines functionality with modern design, offering a versatile electric commercial vehicle that meets the demands of today’s businesses. This section explores the E-Scudo’s exterior styling, interior space, and wheelbase options.Exterior Styling
The E-Scudo boasts a compact yet spacious design, with an exterior height of only 1.90 meters (1.94 meters for some versions). This low profile allows for easy maneuverability in urban environments while maintaining an impressive load capacity. The van comes in two lengths: a standard version measuring 4.98 meters and a Maxi version at 5.33 meters. The exterior width without door mirrors is 1,920 mm, expanding to 2,204 mm with mirrors extended. This thoughtful design ensures the E-Scudo can navigate tight spaces while providing ample interior room. The van’s front overhang measures 881 mm, while the rear overhang varies between 803 mm for the standard version and 1,153 mm for the Maxi version.Interior Space
Despite its compact exterior, the E-Scudo offers remarkable interior space. The van provides up to 6.6 m³ of cargo capacity and can handle a payload of up to 1,400 kg. This spaciousness allows businesses to transport a variety of goods efficiently. The load compartment dimensions are equally impressive:| Feature | Standard Version | Maxi Version |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum Length | 2.51 – 3.67 m | 2.86 – 4.02 m |
| Maximum Height | 1,397 mm | 1,397 mm |
| Maximum Width | 1,628 mm | 1,628 mm |
| Width Between Wheelarches | 1,258 mm | 1,258 mm |
Wheelbase Options
Interestingly, both the standard and Maxi versions of the E-Scudo share the same wheelbase of 3,275 mm. This consistent wheelbase across both lengths contributes to the van’s stability and handling characteristics. The difference in overall length is achieved through variations in the rear overhang, allowing for increased cargo space in the Maxi version without altering the wheelbase. The E-Scudo’s design ensures that the electric powertrain does not compromise load capacity. It maintains the same cargo volume and payload capabilities as its diesel counterparts, offering businesses a seamless transition to electric mobility without sacrificing functionality.Electric Powertrain Capabilities
The Fiat E-Scudo’s electric powertrain offers impressive capabilities, making it a standout choice in the commercial electric vehicle market. This section explores the van’s battery options, charging infrastructure, and performance metrics.Battery Options
The E-Scudo comes with two battery options to suit different business needs:- 50kWh battery: Provides up to 143 miles (230 km) of range (WLTP)
- 75kWh battery: Offers an extended range of up to 205 miles (330 km) (WLTP)
Charging Infrastructure
The E-Scudo supports various charging options:- AC Charging:
- Standard 7.4kW Type 2 AC charging
- Optional 11kW for faster AC charging
- DC Fast Charging:
- 100kW DC fast charging capability

The long wheelbase version provides 6.1 cubic meters of space with a payload capacity of up to 1,000kg. To further enhance its versatility, the E-Scudo features the innovative Magic Cargo system. This clever design allows for the transportation of longer items by utilizing the space around the front passenger seat. While the E-Scudo’s towing capacity is limited to 1,000kg compared to its diesel counterpart, it still offers towing capabilities, which is not always the case with electric vehicles.Connectivity Options

Swiss vans are a fantastic company to deal with .From the first meeting we had they delivered everything that was asked of them , my transporter was fitted with everything I asked for with expertise as my expectations was met to the letter .if you are thinking of getting your self a transporter that gets everything you expect and ask for this is definitely the company to use . I was worried first as I shoped about and some of the quotes I received was astronomical with other companies, but I feel as a customer a customer of swiss vans i looked after in everything that I was promised so I would definitely recommend these guys and I will no doubt use their services again in the future..... I don't normally leave reviews but I can't recommend these guys enough, seriously - anyone that's looking to buy a van or other commercial vehicle, give these guy's a call, ask for Tom because you won't be disappointed...!!!
I needed a commercial vehicle for private use as I'm not self employed and therefore paying the VAT upfront is quite a chunk of money to loose so needed it to be wrapped up in the monthly repayment. I'd already tried several other companies before Swiss Vans and non of them were interested. I'd pretty much given up and was looking at 2nd Hand vans until I came across Swiss Vans advert on Facebook. I sent a message (with very low expectation) and the next day I was contacted by Tom Jones (yes, a Welshman called Tom Jones who sells vans...!!!). Tom is the first person that actually took the time to listen to what I needed and how I needed it work. He went away and came back a couple of hours later and explained that initially this wasn't going to be easy to achieve but to leave it with him and that he'd call me the next day. To be honest, I didn't think I'd hear from him again but true to his word he called me the next day and said that he had it all worked out, all agreed and all in place ready to go. Tom fired over the paperwork, I paid the small holding deposit and a few weeks later the vans been delivered and completely exceeded my expectations.
I'm a great believer that 'People buy People', yes Swiss Vans are truly excellent and I'd go as far as to say that in my experience, they're better than the rest but like all other companies they're only as good as the people they have working for them. Tom - I can't thank you enough, you're a credit to Swiss Vans, and Swiss Vans - you're outstanding.
