Peugeot Boxer Low Loader Review: Best Choice for Your Business?
Selecting the perfect commercial vehicle for your business can feel overwhelming with countless options, specifications, and price points. Many business owners have their eyes on the Peugeot low loader, but questions remain about its real-world performance. Our team tested the Peugeot Boxer low loader extensively in businesses of all sizes. This comprehensive review gets into everything that impacts your bottom line – from loading capabilities and fuel efficiency to practical dimensions. Business owners who need help choosing between different van options will find our detailed Peugeot Boxer analysis valuable to determine if this low loader van matches their operational needs. Source
Business Performance Overview
The Peugeot Boxer low loader’s business performance metrics have impressed us during our thorough testing. Let’s look at everything that matters most to your operations.Payload and Loading Capabilities
The Boxer’s payload capacity stands out at 1545kg in its popular 3.5-tonne version. This beats both the Ford Transit (1500kg) and Maxus Deliver 9 (1360kg). Loading becomes a breeze thanks to the wide access doors that open up to 270°. The van’s loading sill height ranks among the lowest in its class and ranges between 493-602mm.Fuel Economy and Running Costs
The fuel economy proves competitive but doesn’t lead the class. We achieved between 25.6-40.1mpg with the 140hp engine, which seems reasonable for a van this size. The Stop & Start technology adds value by cutting fuel consumption another 0.5l/100km when driving in urban areas.Total Cost of Ownership Analysis
The Boxer proves to be a budget-friendly investment for these reasons:- Service intervals stretch to 48,000km or two years
- The timing chain design needs no replacement
- Standard 15″ tyres come with economical replacement costs
Industry-Specific Applications Peugeot Boxer Low Loader
Testing the Peugeot Boxer low loader in businesses of all types shows what a versatile vehicle it really is. Let’s look at how this vehicle meets different business needs.Removal and Courier Services
The Peugeot low loader shines especially when you have removal and courier operations. Loading becomes easier without a tail lift due to its low floor height. The vehicle’s generous 22m³ body capacity – the largest in the Boxer range – handles everything from furniture deliveries to office relocations with ease.Construction and Trade Usage
The Boxer low loader’s features make it a great tool for construction sites:- GRP panel construction gives a strong yet lightweight build
- Optional Grip Control adapts to multiple terrain settings
- Four floor-mounted lashing points and side load locking strips secure cargo safely
Retail and Distribution Solutions
Retail operations benefit from the aerodynamic Luton pod design. Storage capacity increases while better airflow management helps save fuel. Standard pallets fit easily on the 4,080mm load floor, and the front-wheel-drive setup keeps handling stable regardless of load distribution. The low frame chassis design, lowered by up to 220mm, makes loading easier and keeps the vehicle stable. Our retail delivery tests showed faster deliveries and less tired workers as a result.Technical Specifications
The technical specifications of the Peugeot Boxer low loader reveal impressive engineering that sets it apart from competitors.Engine Options and Performance
The latest 2.2-litre BlueHDI engine shows clear improvements over its predecessor. Three power outputs are available:| Power Output | Torque | Fuel Economy |
|---|---|---|

The total load volume reaches 17.5 cubic metres, making this vehicle one of the most spacious options available.Safety Features and Technology

Investment Considerations
Smart financial decisions about your Peugeot low loader depend on both immediate and future costs. Our market analysis and hands-on experience have helped us create a detailed investment breakdown that will help you choose better.Purchase vs Lease Options

- Fixed monthly payments

- Flexible mileage terms
Maintenance and Service Costs Peugeot Boxer Low Loader
The Peugeot Boxer stands out as one of the most economical vans to maintain. Service intervals of 2 years or 30,000 miles reduce downtime by a lot compared to other vans. Service costs typically range from £312 for simple services to £620 for detailed maintenance. You have plenty of flexibility with servicing options. Main dealer servicing protects your warranty coverage. We’ve also found reliable independent service centres that offer good rates without cutting corners on quality.Resale Value Projections
Used Peugeot low loaders hold their value well, especially when they’re properly maintained. Here’s what affects your resale value:| Age | Average Mileage | Typical Retention |
|---|---|---|
| 3 years | 60,000 miles | 45-50% |
| 5 years | 100,000 miles | 35-40% |

Our tests show its main advantages are the best-in-class payload capacity, practical loading features, and its suitability for businesses of all types. The vehicle’s fuel efficiency and longer maintenance intervals make it an affordable investment over time. Terrible business practices. Ian Hill is purchasing software after receiving a free trial and accepting license agreement but is not capable to understand the refund policy and has been trolling us afterwards. Stay away if you can!

Swiss vans are a fantastic company to deal with .From the first meeting we had they delivered everything that was asked of them , my transporter was fitted with everything I asked for with expertise as my expectations was met to the letter .if you are thinking of getting your self a transporter that gets everything you expect and ask for this is definitely the company to use . I was worried first as I shoped about and some of the quotes I received was astronomical with other companies, but I feel as a customer a customer of swiss vans i looked after in everything that I was promised so I would definitely recommend these guys and I will no doubt use their services again in the future..... David jones .... thanks Tom Jones for all your help ....

I don't normally leave reviews but I can't recommend these guys enough, seriously - anyone that's looking to buy a van or other commercial vehicle, give these guy's a call, ask for Tom because you won't be disappointed...!!!
I needed a commercial vehicle for private use as I'm not self employed and therefore paying the VAT upfront is quite a chunk of money to loose so needed it to be wrapped up in the monthly repayment. I'd already tried several other companies before Swiss Vans and non of them were interested. I'd pretty much given up and was looking at 2nd Hand vans until I came across Swiss Vans advert on Facebook. I sent a message (with very low expectation) and the next day I was contacted by Tom Jones (yes, a Welshman called Tom Jones who sells vans...!!!). Tom is the first person that actually took the time to listen to what I needed and how I needed it work. He went away and came back a couple of hours later and explained that initially this wasn't going to be easy to achieve but to leave it with him and that he'd call me the next day. To be honest, I didn't think I'd hear from him again but true to his word he called me the next day and said that he had it all worked out, all agreed and all in place ready to go. Tom fired over the paperwork, I paid the small holding deposit and a few weeks later the vans been delivered and completely exceeded my expectations.
I'm a great believer that 'People buy People', yes Swiss Vans are truly excellent and I'd go as far as to say that in my experience, they're better than the rest but like all other companies they're only as good as the people they have working for them. Tom - I can't thank you enough, you're a credit to Swiss Vans, and Swiss Vans - you're outstanding.
