Toyota Hilux GR Predator 14: Off-Roading Beast Unleashed
After testing dozens of off-road vehicles, the Toyota Hilux GR Predator 14 has redefined my expectations for custom pickups. This remarkable machine transcends the standard Hilux – it’s a purpose-built powerhouse that seamlessly blends Toyota’s GR Sport engineering with Predator’s bold styling and enhanced capabilities. Source The vehicle’s commanding presence and race-inspired modifications caught my attention immediately. This wasn’t going to be just another test drive. The GR Predator 14 demands attention from serious off-road enthusiasts and Toyota Hilux fans alike. See all Toyota Hilux Let’s head over to the features that make this machine exceptional – from its outstanding build quality to its remarkable performance enhancements. See all Toyota Hilux for sale
Predator Build Overview
The Toyota Hilux GR Predator 14’s stance amazes me. It stands 140mm wider at the front and 155mm at the rear than the standard Hilux. These aren’t just cosmetic changes – they add real performance benefits. See Toyota Hilux Lease A robust 2.8-litre engine powers this machine and delivers 201bhp with 500Nm of torque. The build’s practical strength shows in its class-leading 3,500kg towing capacity and 1,000kg payload. These numbers make it both powerful and functional. See new Toyota Hilux The Predator build takes the GR Sport to new heights with these distinctive features:- 20-inch Predator iconic alloy wheels
- Low profile spoiler bar with integrated Lazer Lamps
- Custom roof light pod
- Mountain Top roller shutter with platform rack

Performance Enhancements
My extensive testing on different terrains proves that this Hilux’s performance upgrades are nowhere near just cosmetic. The engineering team completely revamped the suspension system and added new monotube dampers that react faster to terrain changes. These dampers dissipate heat effectively and maintain consistent performance in tough conditions. The new suspension system has revised leaf springs with a helper leaf contact point, while the main leaf is about 6% longer. The self-lubricating rubber in the rear shackle bush caught my attention. It minimises friction and makes the ride smoother on rough terrain. Key performance features:- Ground clearance increased by 20mm
- Approach angle improved from 29 to 30 degrees
- Track width widened: 140mm front and 150mm rear
- Better braking with larger front discs and new rear disc brakes

Premium Lighting Solutions
This custom Hilux’s lighting system stands out as one of the most advanced I’ve seen in off-road vehicles. The setup has Predator Vision LED lighting solutions with an impressive IP68 & IP69K rating – the highest level of protection against water and dust you can get. The Lazer Lamps grille kit and powerful roof light pod really caught my attention. Night testing showed these lights deliver exceptional brightness and coverage. The system has these key features:- Waterproof Deutsche connector with complete wiring harness
- Power surge protection system
- Integrated relay and ring battery connections
- Full switch control functionality

Conclusion
The Toyota Hilux GR Predator 14 outperforms standard pickup modifications based on my thorough testing. This beast blends practical utility with exceptional off-road capability. It retains the Hilux’s legendary 3,500kg towing capacity while adding the most important performance upgrades. Responsive monotube dampers and wider track width create a detailed suspension overhaul that enhances daily drives and off-road adventures. The 201bhp engine’s raw power combines with 500Nm of torque to deliver exactly what you need. A premium lighting system completes the package and makes night-time off-roading feel as natural as daytime driving. The GR Predator 14’s price tag might surprise you, but its build quality, performance upgrades, and practical capabilities justify the cost. This machine backs up its aggressive styling with real-life performance. Toyota and Predator have created something truly special here, as my testing on terrains of all types clearly shows.FAQs

Swiss vans are a fantastic company to deal with .From the first meeting we had they delivered everything that was asked of them , my transporter was fitted with everything I asked for with expertise as my expectations was met to the letter .if you are thinking of getting your self a transporter that gets everything you expect and ask for this is definitely the company to use . I was worried first as I shoped about and some of the quotes I received was astronomical with other companies, but I feel as a customer a customer of swiss vans i looked after in everything that I was promised so I would definitely recommend these guys and I will no doubt use their services again in the future..... David jones .... thanks Tom Jones for all your help ....

I don't normally leave reviews but I can't recommend these guys enough, seriously - anyone that's looking to buy a van or other commercial vehicle, give these guy's a call, ask for Tom because you won't be disappointed...!!!
I needed a commercial vehicle for private use as I'm not self employed and therefore paying the VAT upfront is quite a chunk of money to loose so needed it to be wrapped up in the monthly repayment. I'd already tried several other companies before Swiss Vans and non of them were interested. I'd pretty much given up and was looking at 2nd Hand vans until I came across Swiss Vans advert on Facebook. I sent a message (with very low expectation) and the next day I was contacted by Tom Jones (yes, a Welshman called Tom Jones who sells vans...!!!). Tom is the first person that actually took the time to listen to what I needed and how I needed it work. He went away and came back a couple of hours later and explained that initially this wasn't going to be easy to achieve but to leave it with him and that he'd call me the next day. To be honest, I didn't think I'd hear from him again but true to his word he called me the next day and said that he had it all worked out, all agreed and all in place ready to go. Tom fired over the paperwork, I paid the small holding deposit and a few weeks later the vans been delivered and completely exceeded my expectations.
I'm a great believer that 'People buy People', yes Swiss Vans are truly excellent and I'd go as far as to say that in my experience, they're better than the rest but like all other companies they're only as good as the people they have working for them. Tom - I can't thank you enough, you're a credit to Swiss Vans, and Swiss Vans - you're outstanding.
