We tested the 2025 Ford Transit Courier and its powertrain lineup left us impressed with its versatility.Engine Options and Power Delivery
The engine range meets every business need. You can choose between two versions of the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol – a 100PS model with a six-speed manual and a stronger 125PS variant that comes with a seven-speed automatic. The 1.5-litre diesel engine caught our eye with its reliable performance, generating 100PS and 250Nm of torque. See Ford Transit Courier Lease These engines excel on the ground. The diesel engine packs impressive pulling power despite its modest 100PS output. We loaded it up and tested it on steep inclines where it maintained steady performance thanks to its strong torque delivery.Payload and Loading Capacity
The New Transit Courier’s carrying capabilities have taken a big step forward. Standard payloads range from 615kg to 677kg. Here’s the interesting part – you can boost this to 849kg by choosing the increased gross vehicle weight option. The loading bay dimensions make perfect sense:- Load length: 1,802mm (extending to 2,667mm with the load-through feature)
- Load height: 1,253mm
- Width between wheel arches: 1,220mm
Ground Fuel Economy
Our hands-on testing revealed impressive fuel efficiency numbers. The 1.5-litre diesel engine achieved 54.8 mpg on a mixed-driving route that combined town and motorway sections, coming close to Ford’s claimed 55.3 mpg. The petrol models showed good efficiency too. Our tests showed the 100PS EcoBoost returned between 39.7mpg and 43.4mpg. Businesses that need towing capacity will find the diesel variant offers the highest at 1,100kg, while the petrol models can pull up to 1,000kg. These numbers show the Transit Courier works hard despite its compact size.Business-Focused Features
Our review of the 2025 Ford Transit Courier’s business features reveals an impressive suite of fleet management tools and connected services.Fleet Management Integration
The van connects seamlessly with Ford Pro’s platform, which brings real business benefits. Ford Pro Telematics stands out by offering a free year of access to businesses with five or more vehicles. Fleet managers can learn about vehicle location, health status, and service needs in real-time to make better operational decisions. See Ford Transit Courier Sport The FORDLiive connected uptime system proves its value with over 700,000 extra vehicle availability days across Europe. This translates to about €319 million in customer value. The system uses vehicle data to speed up diagnosis and cut downtime.Connected Services Benefits
The FordPass Pro mobile app changes how we use the vehicle. This free smartphone app gives you:- Remote locking and unlocking capabilities
- Real-time vehicle location tracking
- Fuel spending monitoring
- Health alerts for fluid levels and tyre pressures
Security and Safety Systems
The Transit Courier earned a Platinum safety award from Euro NCAP with an excellent overall score of 95% across tested categories. Modern businesses will appreciate the van’s complete security solutions. Fleet Start Inhibit lets fleet managers disable vehicles remotely outside work hours. We tested several reliable security features:- Break-in alerts sent directly to your phone
- Remote vehicle disabling capabilities
- Interior movement sensors
- TVL-partnered additional lock packs with anti-pick mechanisms
Cost of Ownership Analysis
The 2025 Ford Transit Courier offers several financial aspects that need careful analysis. Let’s break down every cost element to help you make a smart decision.Purchase vs Lease Comparison
The Transit Courier lease starts at £16,200 (excluding VAT), making it one of the most affordable vans in its class. The total ownership costs reveal interesting patterns between buying and leasing options. Contract hire gives you these benefits:- Monthly payments that cover tax and agreed mileage
- Service and breakdown cover included
- Tax benefits that are 100% deductible
Maintenance Requirements
The Transit Courier’s maintenance schedule focuses on business efficiency. Service intervals happen every two years or 25,000 miles. This schedule helps cut down workshop visits. Variable oil service intervals adapt to how you use your van. City driving or short trips might need more frequent oil changes. The Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor keeps your engine safe and alerts you about service needs within 1,000 miles or one month.Residual Value Projections
The Transit Courier shows impressive residual value performance. Latest figures reveal a 10.5% improvement in three-year residual values compared to older models. The van stays £500 ahead of its closest competitor at the four-year mark with 80,000 miles. The electric variant cuts maintenance costs by 35% compared to diesel. These savings make the E-Transit Courier an attractive choice, especially for city operations. Our test results show the diesel variant reaches up to 54.3 mpg, while petrol options deliver between **38.1 and 43.5 mpg. These numbers, plus the detailed three-year/60,000-mile warranty, create competitive whole-life costs. The Transit Courier proves itself as a smart business investment.Practical Versatility
Our hands-on testing of the 2025 Ford Transit Courier reveals its standout versatility compared to competitors. The van’s user-focused design improvements make daily operations a breeze.Loading Bay Accessibility
The van’s boosted loading capabilities impressed us greatly. The cargo space now offers 2.9 cubic metres, which is substantially more practical than before with a 25% increase. These loading bay measurements speak for themselves:- Load length: 1,802mm (expandable to 2,667mm with load-through bulkhead)
- Maximum load width: 1,535mm
- Width between wheel arches: 1,220mm
- Load height: 1,253mm
Urban Manoeuvrability
The Transit Courier’s compact size proves to be a huge advantage in city driving. Its tight turning radius and responsive steering make busy street navigation surprisingly easy. The van handles beautifully even with a full load, thanks to its Puma-based platform. Large windows and well-positioned mirrors give excellent visibility from the driver’s seat, which makes city driving much smoother. The electronically adjustable and foldable mirrors are a great way to get through narrow streets safely.Storage Solutions
The cabin features some clever storage designs. We love the innovative phone mount area next to the multimedia screen – it beats traditional air vent mounts hands down. The overhead storage tray handles larger items perfectly, while A4 documents fit nicely in the glovebox. Optional wood and rubber floor covers add extra grip and protection to cargo areas. LED load compartment lights make early morning or evening deliveries much easier. The sort of thing i love is the optional load-through bulkhead feature, which easily fits items up to 2.6 metres long.Future-Proofing Your Investment
We’ve spent a lot of time looking at the 2025 Ford Transit Courier’s future-ready features and feel confident about its potential for modern businesses.Electric Version Compatibility
Ford’s electric commercial vehicle strategy takes a big leap forward with the E-Transit Courier. The van packs a 43kWh battery that delivers up to 186 miles of range. The charging setup stands out:- DC fast charging at 100kWh (10-80% in 23 minutes)
- AC charging at 11kW (full charge in 5.7 hours)
- One-pedal driving capability with regenerative braking
Emissions Zone Compliance
The Transit Courier’s readiness for future standards becomes clear when you get into the details. The Euro 7 emissions standard starts from July 2025 and brings tighter controls on exhaust and wear-related emissions. Businesses in urban areas should note that: The E-Transit Courier won’t face any emissions zone charges, while diesel models meet Euro 6 standards. This is vital as more UK cities roll out Low Emission Zones – Edinburgh, Dundee, and Aberdeen will complete their grace periods by 2025.Technology Updates
The Transit Courier’s technology backbone shows real innovation. Each van includes a built-in modem that enables over-the-air software updates to boost capabilities without workshop visits. Fleet operators love the wireless updates since they cut out downtime for software maintenance. Twin 12-inch screens showcase Ford’s latest SYNC4 system. The subscription-based Connected Navigation system helps drivers with live updates about traffic, parking spots, and local hazards. Fleet security gets a boost from the Fleet Start Inhibit feature that lets you disable vehicles remotely outside work hours. The FORDLiive connected system has already proven its worth by adding over 700,000 days of vehicle availability across Europe – that’s about €319 million in value. The E-Transit Courier’s maintenance costs look promising too. Our calculations show non-scheduled maintenance should cost 35% less than diesel models. This makes it an attractive choice for businesses that think ahead. Conclusion

Swiss vans are a fantastic company to deal with .From the first meeting we had they delivered everything that was asked of them , my transporter was fitted with everything I asked for with expertise as my expectations was met to the letter .if you are thinking of getting your self a transporter that gets everything you expect and ask for this is definitely the company to use . I was worried first as I shoped about and some of the quotes I received was astronomical with other companies, but I feel as a customer a customer of swiss vans i looked after in everything that I was promised so I would definitely recommend these guys and I will no doubt use their services again in the future..... David jones .... thanks Tom Jones for all your help ....

I don't normally leave reviews but I can't recommend these guys enough, seriously - anyone that's looking to buy a van or other commercial vehicle, give these guy's a call, ask for Tom because you won't be disappointed...!!!
I needed a commercial vehicle for private use as I'm not self employed and therefore paying the VAT upfront is quite a chunk of money to loose so needed it to be wrapped up in the monthly repayment. I'd already tried several other companies before Swiss Vans and non of them were interested. I'd pretty much given up and was looking at 2nd Hand vans until I came across Swiss Vans advert on Facebook. I sent a message (with very low expectation) and the next day I was contacted by Tom Jones (yes, a Welshman called Tom Jones who sells vans...!!!). Tom is the first person that actually took the time to listen to what I needed and how I needed it work. He went away and came back a couple of hours later and explained that initially this wasn't going to be easy to achieve but to leave it with him and that he'd call me the next day. To be honest, I didn't think I'd hear from him again but true to his word he called me the next day and said that he had it all worked out, all agreed and all in place ready to go. Tom fired over the paperwork, I paid the small holding deposit and a few weeks later the vans been delivered and completely exceeded my expectations.
I'm a great believer that 'People buy People', yes Swiss Vans are truly excellent and I'd go as far as to say that in my experience, they're better than the rest but like all other companies they're only as good as the people they have working for them. Tom - I can't thank you enough, you're a credit to Swiss Vans, and Swiss Vans - you're outstanding.
