VW ID Buzz Lease and Finance Options: Making Electric
The Volkswagen ID Buzz has taken the electric vehicle market by storm, offering a unique blend of nostalgia and cutting-edge technology. As more drivers seek to embrace sustainable transportation, the ID Buzz lease has become an attractive option to access this innovative vehicle without the long-term commitment of ownership. This electric reimagining of the classic VW microbus is capturing attention with its stylish design, eco-friendly performance, and versatile interior space. For those interested in driving the ID Buzz, understanding the various lease deals and finance options is crucial to making an informed decision. This article explores the VW ID Buzz lease deals available in the UK and beyond, comparing them with traditional financing methods. It also delves into special offers, contract hire arrangements, and tips to negotiate the best terms, whether you’re looking at a personal lease or considering the ID Buzz van lease for business use. By examining these options, readers can find the most cost-effective way to get behind the wheel of this electrifying new model. SourceUnderstanding VW ID Buzz Lease Options
The Volkswagen ID Buzz, a striking all-electric MPV, has captured the attention of many with its retro design that pays homage to the iconic VW campervan. This cutting-edge vehicle offers up to 258 miles of range, making it an attractive option for those looking to embrace electric mobility. To make this innovative vehicle more accessible, Volkswagen offers various leasing options tailored to different needs and preferences. See all ID Buzz for sale Personal Contract Hire (PCH) Personal Contract Hire (PCH) is an excellent choice for individuals who want to experience the ID Buzz without the long-term commitment of ownership. With PCH, customers can enjoy the following benefits: Flexible contract terms Lower monthly payments compared to other finance methods Option to drive a higher-spec ID Buzz Inclusion of road tax for the contract length Full manufacturer’s warranty When opting for a personal lease, customers simply need to decide on the contract length, initial payment, and monthly rental. Once these details are settled, the ID Buzz is delivered free of charge. At the end of the lease term, the keys are handed back to the leasing company, who typically arranges collection from the customer’s address. See ID Buzz Cargo It’s important to note that unlike PCP deals, PCH does not offer the option to buy the car at the end of the contract. Customers should also arrange their own insurance for the vehicle.Business Contract Hire (BCH)
For businesses managing fleets of less than 80 cars, Business Contract Hire (BCH) offers an attractive leasing solution for the ID Buzz. This option comes with several advantages:< Tailored service, maintenance, and repair plans Competitive finance rates Expert advice on vehicle selection Excellent sales support and after-sales care Access to Volkswagen Driverline services The BCH process involves an initial rental payment, followed by monthly rentals for the duration of the contract. At the end of the term, the vehicles are returned, subject to fair wear and tear conditions. Volkswagen can also handle servicing, maintenance, and tire care as part of the package. One significant benefit for company car drivers is the low Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax rate. As the ID Buzz produces zero emissions at the tailpipe, it qualifies for a mere 2% BIK company car tax, making it an economically attractive option for businesses. Lease Purchase While not as common as PCH or BCH, lease purchase is another option available for those interested in the ID Buzz. This method combines elements of leasing and purchasing, allowing customers to spread the cost of the vehicle over an agreed term. At the end of the contract, unlike PCH or BCH, the customer has the option to purchase the vehicle outright. Regardless of the chosen leasing option, the ID Buzz offers an impressive array of features across its three available variants: Life, Style, and 1st Edition. The base Life model comes generously equipped with: Heated seats and steering wheel Ambient lighting Wireless phone charging 10-inch infotainment screen Tinted windows Sliding doors on both sides Additionally, all ID Buzz models boast advanced driver assistance and safety systems, including adaptive cruise control, automatic post-collision braking, autonomous emergency braking, and Park Assist technology. For those requiring more space, a seven-seater version with a longer wheelbase is available to order. The standard five-seat configuration offers an impressive 1,121 liters of luggage space, perfect for family trips or business needs. Businesses looking for a versatile electric van option can consider the ID Buzz Cargo. This variant provides a 3.9 m3 load space, capable of accommodating two fully-loaded euro pallets, while offering significant fuel cost savings. Finance Solutions for the VW ID Buzz The Volkswagen ID Buzz offers various finance solutions to make electric mobility more accessible. These options cater to different preferences and financial situations, allowing customers to choose the most suitable path to drive this innovative electric vehicle. Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) Solutions Personal Contract Plan (PCP) is a flexible finance plan designed for personal customers. This option allows drivers to get behind the wheel of a new or used ID Buzz sooner than they might expect. The key features of PCP include: Flexible deposit Fixed monthly payments Agreed future value Three options at the end of the agreement With Solutions PCP, customers can choose their deposit amount, repayment period (between 18 to 49 months), and annual mileage. An optional final payment is set aside to lower monthly repayments. At the end of the agreement, customers have three choices: Part exchange the ID Buzz for a different Volkswagen on a new Solutions contract Pay the option to purchase fee and the optional final payment to take full ownership Return the vehicle (subject to fair wear and tear conditions) This flexibility makes PCP an attractive option for those who want to keep their future options open. Hire Purchase (HP) Hire Purchase is a straightforward way to finance the Volkswagen ID Buzz. This option is ideal for customers who are certain they want to own the vehicle at the end of the agreement. Key features of HP include: Flexible deposit Fixed monthly payments Ownership at the end of the agreement Customers can choose a repayment period between 12 and 60 months, allowing them to tailor the plan to their budget. The fixed interest rates ensure predictable monthly payments throughout the agreement. It’s important to note that Volkswagen Financial Services retains ownership of the vehicle until all monthly payments and the option to purchase fee have been paid. 0% APR Finance Deals Volkswagen occasionally offers special finance deals to make the ID Buzz even more affordable. Current offers include: 0% APR with £1,850 towards the deposit 5.9% APR Representative with £5,000 towards the deposit These deals can significantly reduce the overall cost of financing the ID Buzz, making it a more attractive proposition for potential buyers. In addition to these finance options, Volkswagen provides several incentives to enhance the ID Buzz ownership experience: Free Ohme Home Charger: This smart charger helps manage charging schedules, monitor progress, and track electricity usage and costs. £500 worth of charging credit with Volkswagen We Charge by Elli: This gives access to thousands of public charging points across the UK. Up to 10,000 free miles with OVO energy tariff: By adding the free Charge Anytime add-on to an OVO energy tariff, customers can enjoy significant savings on home charging. Free Ohme wallbox when purchasing an ID Buzz by September 30, 2024 (available with cash purchase or Solutions PCP). These finance solutions and additional incentives aim to make the transition to electric mobility more affordable and convenient for ID Buzz customers. By offering a range of options, Volkswagen ensures that there’s a suitable finance plan for various budgets and preferences. Comparing Lease vs. Finance: Which is Right for You? When considering the Volkswagen ID Buzz, customers have two primary options: leasing or financing. Both choices have their merits, and the best option depends on individual circumstances and preferences. Pros and Cons of Leasing Leasing the ID Buzz can be an attractive option for many drivers. One of the main advantages is lower monthly payments compared to financing. This allows customers to potentially drive a higher-spec model with more features than they might afford through traditional financing. Leasing also offers flexibility, with contract terms typically ranging from 18 to 49 months. At the end of the lease, customers can simply return the vehicle and move on to a newer model, which is ideal for those who enjoy driving the latest technology. Another benefit of leasing is that it often includes road tax for the duration of the contract and comes with a full manufacturer’s warranty. This can provide peace of mind and help manage costs more effectively. However, leasing does have some drawbacks. Unlike financing, leasing doesn’t offer the option to own the vehicle at the end of the contract. Additionally, there are usually mileage restrictions, and customers may face charges for excessive wear and tear. Advantages and Disadvantages of Financing Financing the ID Buzz through options like Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) or Hire Purchase (HP) offers its own set of benefits. The most significant advantage is that it provides a path to ownership. With HP, customers will own the vehicle outright once all payments are made, while PCP offers the option to purchase at the end of the agreement. Financing also allows for more flexibility in terms of vehicle usage. There are no mileage restrictions, and customers have the freedom to modify the vehicle if desired. For businesses, financing can offer tax advantages, as the vehicle can be considered a company asset. This can lead to potential deductions for depreciation and interest payments. On the downside, financing typically results in higher monthly payments compared to leasing. There’s also the risk of depreciation, which becomes the owner’s responsibility. This can be a concern with rapidly evolving electric vehicle technology. To help make the decision easier, Volkswagen offers some attractive incentives for both leasing and financing customers. These include a free Ohme Home Charger, £500 worth of charging credit with Volkswagen We Charge by Elli, and up to 10,000 free miles with an OVO energy tariff. When deciding between leasing and financing, customers should consider their long-term goals, budget, and driving habits. Those who prioritize lower monthly payments and the ability to upgrade to newer models regularly may find leasing more appealing. On the other hand, those looking for long-term ownership and more flexibility in vehicle usage might prefer financing options. Ultimately, the choice between leasing and financing the ID Buzz depends on individual circumstances. Both options provide ways to make this innovative electric vehicle more accessible, allowing more drivers to experience its unique blend of nostalgia, cutting-edge technology, and eco-friendly performance. Workplace Charging Scheme: Businesses can receive up to £350 off the price of each charging point installation, for up to 40 charge points. Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) Exemption: Electric vehicles, including the ID Buzz, are completely exempt from VED, also known as road tax, until March 31, 2025. This exemption applies even to premium vehicles priced above £40,000. Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) Tax Advantages: Entirely electric van fleets receive a 40% discount on BiK taxes when there is a private van benefit. Congestion Charge Exemption: The ID Buzz, being an electric vehicle, is exempt from schemes such as the London Congestion Charge. Volkswagen has also partnered with energy providers to offer additional benefits. ID Buzz customers who switch their home energy supply to OVO could be eligible for up to 10,000 free miles. Furthermore, Volkswagen is offering a free Ohme Home Charger with standard installation for ID Buzz purchases. This smart charger helps manage charging schedules, monitor progress, and track electricity usage and costs. Lastly, Volkswagen is providing £500 worth of charging credit with Volkswagen We Charge by Elli, giving access to thousands of public charging points across the UK. These combined offers and incentives make the ID Buzz an increasingly attractive option for both personal and business use, significantly reducing the overall cost of ownership and operation. Tips for Negotiating the Best ID Buzz Lease or Finance Deal Securing the best deal on a Volkswagen ID Buzz lease or finance arrangement requires careful planning and strategic negotiation. By following these tips, potential buyers can maximize their chances of getting a favorable agreement. Research Market Prices Before entering negotiations, it’s crucial to have a clear understanding of the current market prices for the ID Buzz. Volkswagen offers various trim levels and options, with prices ranging from around £57,000 for the Life Pro model to £63,000 for the limited 1st Edition Pro. Knowing these baseline prices provides a solid foundation for negotiations. Customers should also be aware of the different finance options available. Volkswagen offers Solutions Personal Contract Plan (PCP) deals, which can start from £275 a month for the ID Buzz Cargo Commerce 79kWh. This plan includes a 48-month agreement with 10,000 miles per annum, a deposit contribution of £2,000, and a government grant of £5,000. For businesses, Contract Hire agreements are available, with the ID Buzz Cargo Commerce 79kWh starting from £270 a month on a 2-year term. These deals often include additional benefits such as road tax coverage and full manufacturer warranties. Timing Your Purchase The timing of a purchase can significantly impact the deal one can secure. Volkswagen has announced that UK customers can order the ID Buzz in its MPV format, with deliveries expected to commence around Autumn-Winter 2022. However, due to high interest and limited allocation, a £4,000 holding and security deposit may be required for each vehicle. It’s worth noting that Volkswagen occasionally offers promotional APR rates across their ID range. Current offers include 0% APR with £1,850 towards the deposit, or 5.9% APR Representative with £5,000 towards the deposit. Keeping an eye on these time-limited offers can lead to substantial savings. Additionally, waiting for the release of new models or the end of financial quarters may lead to better deals as dealerships aim to meet sales targets. Leveraging Dealer Competition One effective strategy to negotiate a better deal is to leverage competition between dealers. Broadspeed.com, for example, works with various Volkswagen dealers, including large PLC Car Dealer Groups, to secure competitive prices for customers. They claim to identify dealers who are behind on their monthly sales targets, potentially leading to more favorable terms for buyers. When negotiating, consider the following approaches: Obtain quotes from multiple dealers and use them as leverage. Be prepared to walk away if the deal doesn’t meet your expectations. Consider using services like Broadspeed.com or carwow, which can help compare deals from different suppliers. It’s important to remember that while the initial price is crucial, other factors can affect the overall value of the deal. For instance, Volkswagen offers additional incentives such as: A free Ohme Home Charger with standard installation £500 worth of charging credit with Volkswagen We Charge by Elli Up to 10,000 free miles when switching home energy supply to OVO These added benefits can significantly enhance the value of a lease or finance agreement and should be factored into negotiations. Lastly, be aware of the differences between leasing and financing options. While leasing often results in lower monthly payments, it doesn’t offer the option to own the vehicle at the end of the contract. Financing through PCP or Hire Purchase provides a path to ownership but typically involves higher monthly payments. Consider your long-term goals and budget when deciding between these options and use this knowledge to negotiate the best terms for your specific situation. Conclusion The Volkswagen ID Buzz has brought a fresh perspective to the electric vehicle market, blending nostalgia with cutting-edge technology. Its diverse lease and finance options have made it more accessible to a wide range of customers, from individuals seeking personal mobility solutions to businesses looking to electrify their fleets. The array of incentives, including government grants, free charging credits, and home charger installations, further enhances the appeal of this innovative vehicle. To secure the best deal on an ID Buzz, potential buyers should do their homework on market prices, time their purchase strategically, and leverage competition between dealers. By considering factors such as long-term goals, budget constraints, and driving habits, customers can make an informed decision between leasing and financing options. Ultimately, the ID Buzz offers a unique opportunity to embrace electric mobility while enjoying the charm of a reimagined classic, making it a compelling choice in the evolving automotive landscape. I don't normally leave reviews but I can't recommend these guys enough, seriously - anyone that's looking to buy a van or other commercial vehicle, give these guy's a call, ask for Tom because you won't be disappointed...!!!
I needed a commercial vehicle for private use as I'm not self employed and therefore paying the VAT upfront is quite a chunk of money to loose so needed it to be wrapped up in the monthly repayment. I'd already tried several other companies before Swiss Vans and non of them were interested. I'd pretty much given up and was looking at 2nd Hand vans until I came across Swiss Vans advert on Facebook. I sent a message (with very low expectation) and the next day I was contacted by Tom Jones (yes, a Welshman called Tom Jones who sells vans...!!!). Tom is the first person that actually took the time to listen to what I needed and how I needed it work. He went away and came back a couple of hours later and explained that initially this wasn't going to be easy to achieve but to leave it with him and that he'd call me the next day. To be honest, I didn't think I'd hear from him again but true to his word he called me the next day and said that he had it all worked out, all agreed and all in place ready to go. Tom fired over the paperwork, I paid the small holding deposit and a few weeks later the vans been delivered and completely exceeded my expectations.
I'm a great believer that 'People buy People', yes Swiss Vans are truly excellent and I'd go as far as to say that in my experience, they're better than the rest but like all other companies they're only as good as the people they have working for them. Tom - I can't thank you enough, you're a credit to Swiss Vans, and Swiss Vans - you're outstanding.
