Peugeot Partner Models and Specifications
Standard vs Long Wheelbase
The Peugeot Partner is available in two lengths: Standard and Long. The Standard model measures 4.4 metres in length, while the Long version extends to 4.8 metres. This difference in size translates to varying cargo volumes, with the Standard offering 3.3 cubic metres and the Long providing 3.8 cubic metres of space. Both versions can accommodate two Europallets, making them versatile options for businesses with different transportation needs. The Standard wheelbase model, also known as L1, has a wheelbase of 2,785mm, while the Long wheelbase (L2) stretches to 2,975mm. This difference in wheelbase affects the load length, with the Standard version offering 1,817mm and the Long version providing 2,167mm when measured along the cargo floor.Payload Capacity
Peugeot Partner vans boast impressive payload capacities, ranging from 680kg to 1,009kg, depending on the model and configuration. The Standard body can carry over 1,000kg in some configurations, while the Long model’s limit is slightly less at 950kg. These payload capacities make the Peugeot Partner one of the most capable vans in its class. It’s important to note that payload capacity varies based on the specific model, engine, and trim level. For instance, the Partner Standard offers 650kg, 950kg, and 1,000kg payload options, while all Partner Long models come with a 950kg maximum payload. Buyers should carefully consider their needs and consult the brochure to select the most suitable configuration.Engine Options
The Peugeot Partner range offers a variety of engine options to suit different driving requirements. The primary choices include:- BlueHDi 100: A 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 102hp and 250Nm of torque.
- BlueHDi 130: A more powerful 1.5-litre diesel variant, delivering 131hp and 300Nm of torque.
Leasing Options and Benefits
Contract Hire vs Finance Lease
Peugeot Partner lease deals offer businesses two primary options: Contract Hire and Finance Lease. Contract Hire, also known as Business Contract Hire (BCH), allows companies to use a van for a flexible period of two to five years with fixed monthly payments. This option requires an initial rental, typically equivalent to three to twelve monthly payments. Finance Lease, available only for businesses, shares similarities with Contract Hire but differs in the end-of-agreement terms. The key distinction lies in what happens when the lease ends. With Contract Hire, the van is returned to the funder after all payments are completed. In contrast, Finance Lease requires the business to sell the van to a third party or have the funder sell it for a fee. The proceeds are then used to pay the balloon payment, which represents the vehicle’s estimated value at the end of the lease term.Flexible Terms and Mileage
Both leasing options offer flexibility to suit various business needs. Companies can tailor their deal terms, including contract length and mileage, to align with their specific requirements. This flexibility extends to the choice of powertrain, with Peugeot offering both diesel and 100% electric options for the Partner van. For businesses uncertain about their mileage requirements or those needing high-mileage commercial vehicles, Finance Lease may be more suitable. It offers greater flexibility in setting estimated mileage and allows for early contract termination without penalties for exceeding anticipated mileage.Tax Benefits for Businesses
Leasing a Peugeot Partner van comes with several tax advantages for businesses. VAT-registered limited companies can reclaim up to 100% of the VAT paid on van lease payments. Additionally, businesses can offset monthly repayment costs against corporation tax, with partnerships and sole traders able to offset these charges against annual taxation. For electric vehicles like the e-Partner, businesses can benefit from lower Benefit in Kind (BiK) rates for employees. Maintenance packages, considered as service charges, allow companies to claim back 100% against corporation tax and all of the VAT. These tax benefits, combined with the option to spread costs and keep vehicles off the balance sheet, make Peugeot Partner leasing an attractive and tax-efficient solution for businesses looking to manage their fleet effectively.Comparing Peugeot Partner with Competitors
Load Capacity
The Peugeot Partner offers impressive load capacity, making it a strong contender in its class. With cargo volumes of 3.3 and 3.8 cubic metres for the Standard and Long versions respectively, it provides ample space for various business needs. The payload capacity ranges from 680kg to 1,009kg, depending on the model and configuration. The Partner’s cargo area has a width of 1,229mm between the wheelarches, accommodating a Europallet comfortably. The maximum load width extends to 1,550mm, while the load height is 1,236mm for the Standard van and 1,243mm for the Long/Crew vans. The load length varies from 1,817mm in the Standard van to 2,167mm in the Long version. A notable feature is the Multi-Flex through-load facility, which increases the load length to 3,090mm and 3,440mm for the Standard and Long versions respectively. This flexibility gives the Partner an edge over some competitors in terms of versatility.Fuel Efficiency
The Peugeot Partner has demonstrated impressive fuel efficiency in real-world conditions. Based on data from 127 Peugeot Partners covering 1.2 million miles, the average MPG varies across different model years:- 2020 models: 35.3 MPG
- 2019 models: 42.8 MPG
- 2018 models: 43.2 MPG
- 2017 models: 36.4 MPG
Technology Features
The Peugeot Partner comes equipped with a range of technology features that enhance safety and convenience. Standard safety kit includes a driver’s airbag, electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assist, and emergency brake assist. A full-height steel bulkhead separates the cargo and passenger areas, adding to the van’s safety credentials. Advanced features like lane assist, speed limit recognition, and automatic emergency braking are available through Peugeot’s Safety Packs. The BlueHDi 130 model with the EAT8 automatic gearbox offers adaptive cruise control, a feature that was uncommon in vans until recently. Conclusion

With its range of models, impressive load capacity, and fuel-efficient engines, the Partner has a significant impact on businesses looking to optimise their operations. The flexibility in leasing options, including Contract Hire and Finance Lease, allows companies to tailor their agreements to suit their specific requirements, making it easier to access these capable vehicles without the burden of ownership. Swiss vans are a fantastic company to deal with .From the first meeting we had they delivered everything that was asked of them , my transporter was fitted with everything I asked for with expertise as my expectations was met to the letter .if you are thinking of getting your self a transporter that gets everything you expect and ask for this is definitely the company to use . I was worried first as I shoped about and some of the quotes I received was astronomical with other companies, but I feel as a customer a customer of swiss vans i looked after in everything that I was promised so I would definitely recommend these guys and I will no doubt use their services again in the future..... I don't normally leave reviews but I can't recommend these guys enough, seriously - anyone that's looking to buy a van or other commercial vehicle, give these guy's a call, ask for Tom because you won't be disappointed...!!!
I needed a commercial vehicle for private use as I'm not self employed and therefore paying the VAT upfront is quite a chunk of money to loose so needed it to be wrapped up in the monthly repayment. I'd already tried several other companies before Swiss Vans and non of them were interested. I'd pretty much given up and was looking at 2nd Hand vans until I came across Swiss Vans advert on Facebook. I sent a message (with very low expectation) and the next day I was contacted by Tom Jones (yes, a Welshman called Tom Jones who sells vans...!!!). Tom is the first person that actually took the time to listen to what I needed and how I needed it work. He went away and came back a couple of hours later and explained that initially this wasn't going to be easy to achieve but to leave it with him and that he'd call me the next day. To be honest, I didn't think I'd hear from him again but true to his word he called me the next day and said that he had it all worked out, all agreed and all in place ready to go. Tom fired over the paperwork, I paid the small holding deposit and a few weeks later the vans been delivered and completely exceeded my expectations.
I'm a great believer that 'People buy People', yes Swiss Vans are truly excellent and I'd go as far as to say that in my experience, they're better than the rest but like all other companies they're only as good as the people they have working for them. Tom - I can't thank you enough, you're a credit to Swiss Vans, and Swiss Vans - you're outstanding.
